Residents of Mullaiththeevu staged a protest march Monday condemning the recent Sri Lanka Army (SLA) artillery attack on Mullaiththeevu town injuring Mullaiththeevu Government Agent, on Mullaiththeevu hospital, the killing of Thu?nukkaay Assistant Government Agent, Nanthakumar and Ki?linochchi Development Officer in SLA Deep Penetration Unit attacks.
The demonstrators voiced their protest against the indiscriminate Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) bombings of areas near schools during examination time and on civilian settlements in Vanni.

The Campaign For Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE), an election monitoring organization accredited under Sri Lanka’s Election Commissioner, said Monday that election related violence in Anuradhapura district is on the increase, and that CaFFE has received 127 complaints from North Central Province (NCP) and Sabragamuwa Province (SP), CaFFE spokesperson Keerthi Tennekone said.

Unidentified armed men on motorcycles opened fire on a car Monday around 12:30 a.m speeding along Anuradhapura New Main Bus Terminal, injuring one of the passengers in the car, police said. The unjured passenger was admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Anuradhapura.
